  • ¾ Cup Boiling Water
  • ½ Cup Cold Water
  • ½ Cup Vodka
  • 12 Ounces Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 1 Teaspoon Silver Luster Dust
  • 2 Drops Black Food Dye

Midnight Green Layer:

  • 1 Box Green Jello 3 ounces
  • ¾ Cup Boiling Water
  • ½ Cup Cold Water
  • ½ Cup Vodka
  • 4 Drops Teal Food Dye
  • 4 Drops Blue Food Dye
  • 7 Drops Forest Green Food Dye
  • 2 Ounces Sweetened Condensed Milk

Black Layer:

  • 1 Box Orange Jello 3 ounces
  • ¾ Cup Boiling Water
  • ½ Cup Cold Water
  • ½ Cup Vodka
  • 4 Drops Black Food Dye

Garnish:

  • 16 Ounces Whipped Topping

Instructions

Silver Layer

  • In a medium mixing bowl, combine the unflavored gelatin and ½ cup cold water. Give a slight stir so that all the gelatin powder is covered with water. Leave to sit for about 5 minutes or until the gelatin has fully bloomed (no longer looks powdery).
  • Pour the ¾ cup boiling water over the top of the gelatin and stir until it’s fully dissolved.
  • Remove 2 ounces of milk from the sweetened condensed milk can, and set aside. Pour the remaining sweetened condensed milk (12 ounces) into the gelatin mixture. Whisk until fully dissolved.
  • In a small dish, combine the ½ cup vodka and luster dust. Stir until thoroughly mixed.
  • Pour the luster dust mixture into the gelatin bowl and stir.
  • Place the two drops of black food dye in the bowl and stir.
  • Line your shot glasses up on a moveable surface like a baking sheet, and put ½ an ounce of the silver jello into each glass.
  • Place in the fridge to chill for 2 hours or until fully set.

Midnight Green Layer

  • Once the silver layer is fully set, place the green jello and ¾ cup boiling water in a medium mixing bowl, and stir until the jello has fully dissolved.
  • Add the ½ cup cold water and ½ cup vodka to the bowl and stir.
  • Add the 4 drops teal dye, 4 drops blue dye, and 7 drops forest green dye to the bowl and stir well.
  • Add the 2 ounces of sweetened condensed milk that were set aside and whisk until fully dissolved.
  • Place ½ an ounce of the midnight green jello into each shot glass and place the shots back in the fridge for 2 hours, or until the green layer is fully set.

Black Layer

  • Combine the orange jello and ¾ cup boiling water in a medium mixing bowl and stir until dissolved.
  • Add the ½ cup cold water and ½ cup vodka to the bowl and stir.
  • Add the 4 drops black dye to the bowl and stir well.
  • Place ½ an ounce of the black jello into each shot glass and place back in the fridge for 2 hours or until the black layer has fully set.

Garnish

  • Place a dollop of whipped topping on top of each shot, if desired. I place the whipped topping in a frosting back with an Ateco 824 frosting tip and make the swirls. It makes for a prettier presentation and will make it look just like the photo. Enjoy!

Notes

Tips:
● Do not garnish with whipped cream if storing for longer than an hour or the whipped cream gets firm. Store, covered, in the fridge, for up to 2 days. You’ll want to keep an eye on the color layers as they might start to bleed into each other a bit after a couple days. Do not freeze.
● If you don’t mind the green shade being off just a bit, you can simply use this teal green dye instead, and skip the three other dyes for that layer.
● It’s important that you do not add more alcohol than what’s recommended. If you do, the jello won’t fully set and your layers will blend together.
